Описание вакансии
About the company:
A Russian company is launching a new circular knitting production facility in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. We are looking for an experienced Knitting Technologist to build the entire technological process from scratch—from setting up knitting operations to managing quality control of dyeing with external contractors. This is a rare opportunity to shape the processes your way, without being bound by "how it's always been done."
Key responsibilities:
-
Set up and manage the full technological process for circular knitting (single jersey, interlock, rib, fleece, and other weft-knitted fabrics)
-
Configure circular knitting machines: stitch density, loop structure, fabric weight (g/m²), and fabric width
-
Select incoming yarns (cotton, polyester, elastane) and conduct quality control; calculate consumption rates
-
Prepare technical specifications for subcontractors handling dyeing and finishing—covering color matching to standards, weight, width, shrinkage, and colorfastness
-
Coordinate lab dips with dyers, monitor compliance with technical specifications, and make on-site visits to contractor facilities
-
Inspect finished dyed fabrics: control color, shrinkage, weight, shade variation; handle claims and non-conformities
-
Analyze defects in knitted fabric and implement measures to reduce waste
-
Develop process documentation, technical cards, and introduce new product references
-
Train and mentor circular knitting machine operators
Requirements:
-
Minimum 3 years of experience as a technologist in a knitting / textile production environment
-
Solid knowledge of circular knitting machinery and stitch constructions
-
Good understanding of dyeing and finishing processes—sufficient to write competent specifications and to accept or reject contractor results with clear technical reasoning
-
Ability to work with color standards and meet customer quality expectations
-
Relevant degree in Textile Technology or a related field
-
Self-starter mindset: you will be setting up processes, not simply maintaining existing ones
Nice to have:
-
Experience in launching a new production line or introducing a new product range
-
Prior cooperation with external dyehouses/contractors
-
Knowledge of Uzbek and/or English (remove if not required)
We offer:
-
Competitive salary based on interview results—please state your expectations
-
Direct impact on production processes and final output: you are the key technology decision-maker
-
Timely salary payments with no delays
-
Work schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off (standard workweek)
