Senior Medical Writer, Contract Communications, will serve as the main point of contact and team lead on the BostonGene Medical Communications Team for generating and editing contract-related internal documents and customer deliverables. This position will require an ability to communicate effectively with customers and to craft and deliver messaging that is consistent with BostonGene’s goals and priorities. This position will also support internal teams at BostonGene to ensure consistent messaging across departments and to provide context to BostonGene staff that will enhance their understanding of both the scientific and business value of all endeavors. As a secondary priority, this position will support general medical writing tasks such as abstract review, manuscript review, conference support, and task triaging for the Medical Communications Team. Job responsibilities
  1. Support for contract related documents: This position will lead the medical writer supporting review of contract-related documents such as statements of work, project quotes, and project/analysis plans. They will work with Research and Development, Legal, and Marketing departments as needed.
  2. Vendor documents: This position will be responsible for coordination of all vendor related deliverables such as Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, vendor qualification questionnaires, etc. They will serve as the main point of contact for various departmental POCs that have been assigned to complete these documents by their team leads, and will establish and enforce a schedule for completion that will include mid-project check-ins and deliverables to ensure the project timelines are met.
  3. Science-marketing messaging cohesion: This position will require an ability to interpret scientific data and generate messaging that combines scientific value with marketability of BostonGene’s technology and unique approach to AI driven precision oncology.
  4. General MW tasks: As needed, this position will continue to support general medical writing tasks that are assigned to the Medical Communications Team including but not limited to abstract review, conference support, and publication support.
Required qualifications
  • PhD, MD, MS, or equivalent in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of medical writing experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of oncology, precision medicine, genomics, molecular diagnostics, and biomarker-driven drug development.
  • Excellent scientific writing, editing, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Fluency in English and Russian (written and spoken), with the ability to produce high-quality scientific, technical, and business documentation.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific and clinical data to diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with document management and collaboration platforms.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in AI-driven healthcare, computational biology, bioinformatics, or precision medicine is a plus.
